I have to say that it was pretty difficult for me to decide this morning which one this is. Sunrise? or Sunset. Society says, you must always think of the positive, but when you cant find the slot to charge your daughter's 'mac book proooo' because all the holes look the same and the ones that do fit the charger don't seem to work and she's not at home to do it for you, then, sorry to say, this is sunset time folks. At 50 plus, not only do you have to remember the old structures of life, like ..... can't think of anything now, how interesting -memory fails me yet again- but you have to get your head around the fact that everything in life is based on the robotic now. I phones, I pad , mac book, android etc etc. WHAT? Compare this to the stuff we used to watch on a Sunday morning, remember Miss Penelopy and her guy in THUNDERBIRRRDS!? Lovely well dressed puppets pressing buttons? That's as close as we got to the robotic. Well it's come to life my dear old folky friends of the past, best get ready. Maybe we should have a vote. As we wake up in the mornings, how many of us reach for the mobile phone as a first priority? I remember the teas made with the alarm that woke us up with a nice over brewed cuppa. That was the first thing people would reach for, then if someone wanted to reach you urgently, they would send a telegram and if you wanted to phone them, you'd get up after your nice cuppa, get ready and go out to find a public telephone box. None of that anymore. I guess I'm one of the 50 plus seeing this as a sunset right now. I'm even trying to find a job..... online...... YEYYYYYY!!!!

I wrote to George Osborne asking for a job writing a column in the Standard, maybe an agony aunt's page. I wonder if he'll answer me.
